About the North Shore Film Festival

A REGISTERED NON-PROFIT ASSOCIATION

The North Shore Film Festival is a non-profit, all-ages, annual film festival. This event showcases short films that have been developed and produced by people who want to make a positive impact in the community around us. This festival aims to promote participation in film arts and encourages the communication of thoughts and ideas on human life, our community, and the environment. Each year the North Shore Film Festival creates community projects which allow people from all over the North Shore to become involved in the film making process and tell their stories.

The 2008 North Shore Film Festival Community Project is called the “How to Start Program”. This program consists of workshops, seminars, and outreach programs (on writing, editing, directing, and producing) that are offered to all residents on the North Shore. Workshops will be taught by Peter Delhuise and Craig March, both very respected industry professionals.

By “focusing your lens on a better world today” you share knowledge and promote awareness of the ways in which people can make a positive impact in the community. Participants are able to make any type of film on any topic affecting the community and the people in it as long as the project follows the festival’s rules and deadlines (see www.northshorefilmfest.org for further details).

“The Film Festival of Life is for people of all ages, experienced or not. This festival was built for those who have a desire to tell a story and make a difference”
